English has always been a sight for sore eyes for some while the very reason of some eyes becoming sore as you can say English is dry, it makes me cry or English is fun, it takes me to Bhurban for some!
Whatever your situation may be, if you were a student from Punjab Board you know how English lesson everyday meant reading this novel, and how a huge portion of exam was sure to come from it!
It was a happy case for the readers as they were given an opportunity to do recreational and syllabus study together but many other, The Non-Readers were always crying over it.
Finally after 55 years, Punjab board has decided to exclude it from the textbook and include The Life Of Muhammad (P.B.U.H) instead.
It can be a good step because that novel was written in 1934 by an English writer James Hilton, and is pretty archaic for that matter but for many it had a sentimental value too as we get used to things being around and their absence is felt.
I rest my case with the famous saying “Your life doesn’t get better by chance, It gets better by CHANGE”.
