Women and men- they are both humans with two different genders but they belong to the same specie. They both differ from each other so much yet they can be, they are the same as they both are made of the same flesh and bones, from the cell, the same emotions are instilled in them when they are made but then men and women are weighed differently by our society, more weight-age is generally given to men as they are referred by some as the “sole bread-winner of the house”. However, how much different or similar they are to each other they both together make this world and run it!
Balance is an essential and a key part of everything, everywhere, from wanting a balanced diet to consume, to maintaining a balance between work and social life, wanting to keep a balance is our inert behavior, but on the other hand we have never thought about having a balanced society, a balanced world, a world where women and men are equal, it doesn’t mean women should be put in a factory’s laboring unit it means they both should be given opportunities according to their caliber and capacity.
We live in a fast moving world, here everything needs to be perfect and well put, we are now in an incredible period of history where the world expects balance. Its absence is noticed and frowned upon while its presence is celebrated. Everybody has a part to play, everyone should get a fair chance to show what they have got, to prove themselves.
Men and women need to work together, neck to neck, give each other a healthy competition because we have seen women like Valentina Tereshkova, that has set foot in space as a Soviet cosmonaut giving too strong a proof that women can work in an office on earth with men too. A collective action is needed where the men and women share the responsibilities and strive to lift each other up. A place where a woman is lacking should be backed up by a man and a vacuum created by a man should be filled by a woman. We should work together as one, single unit to prosper and succeed.
A woman’s struggle for equality and balance doesn’t belong to a single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights as Mr Mohammad Ali Jinnah has rightly said;
“No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men.”
So we all should agree now that a “GENDER BALANCED” world will be a world worth living in!
