Grüner See which means green lake is a breathtakingly beautiful lake and a picturesque surrounded by mountains
for the people to visit, hike, trek and move about until mid-june because after that the scenario totally changes!
Yes, in addition to being beautiful and ethereal it is also a little mysterious!
In winters it is a perfectly normal, regular lake but as summer starts setting in, the snow from the surrounding mountains starts to melt and it overflows the pond which was 3-7 feet deep during the winter! It completely overflows the trees, benches, trails and even a little of the food bridge.
As the snow melt-water is clean and clear, and creates an underwater park which attracts the divers and tourists from all over the world. Due to the high visibility up-to 160 feet, the lake was given a nickname as “Caribbean of the Alps”.
Well what can we say, it really is a magical, emerald toned beauty and it can sweep any one off the feet!
