On this mother’s day, let us all hail these super moms who inspire us to be better everyday!
Mother’s love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved- Eric Fromm
Mothers- Supernatural entities in human bodies, super women that don’t wear a cape. GOD has created mothers so that humans never feel alone. A mother is an all-in-one package- you get a friend, a confidante, an advisor, a critic and most importantly an Alarm Clock in her!!
MOTHER- a word made by the amalgamation of six alphabets together, has a meaning that goes deeper than the oceans, this single word embodies all the love there is in the world and a human being can possibly offer.
Mothers give life, they are life givers, they bring us into the world, they are the only ones that can love Unconditionally! They say “Love is a two- way street” it is give and take but I say it is not, it cannot be so! If it were then how can a mother love her children without any condition, without asking a single thing in return?!
A mother is all- love and no-hate. A two legged super being with a heart bigger than a mountain and her love deeper than than the Pacific ocean!
MOTHERS are our strength and support, it is their love and their firm believe in us that keeps us growing and makes us successful. Their prayers make us and break us!!
Today we will pay tribute to some amazing mothers who not only take care of their children in the best way possible but are also working women and are juggling all of their responsibilities with such grace that it is commendable!
- The first on our list is none other than Mrs Bilquis Edhi.
The wife of a famous philanthropist late Mr Abdul Sattar Edhi, she is a nurse by profession and a known philanthropist. Her charity runs through the whole of Pakistan including hospitals and emergency services. Together with her husband, their charity has saved more than 16,000 unwanted babies. She has also received Hilal-e-Imtiaz for her services.
- Mrs Benazir Bhutto.
The second on our list is the legendary late politician and world’s first Muslim woman Prime minister, Mrs Benazir, the epitome of grace and poise who single handedly managed to look after the affairs of the state along with being a full time home maker and raising three children who have turned out to be following her footsteps and becoming leaders.
- Mrs Michelle Obama.
When she became the first African-American Lady of the United States in 2008, she was already a lawyer, and a successful one. During her tenure she tackled the childhood obesity epidemic, was an advocate for equality in education etc, she was also known and followed as a Fashion icon but her most cherished role is still being a mother.
“You see, at the end of the day, my most important title is still ‘mom-in-chief,’” she said in a 2012 convention speech. “My daughters are still the heart of my heart and the centre of my world.”
- The princess of Wales, Diana.
Along with being a princess, she was a children’s activist, supported initiatives like Landmine eradication, HIV/Aids advocacy etc and was also a mother to two sons named Harry and William. Her humanitarianism has taken over her sons too and they are still supporting their Mother’s charities and are deeply involved in them.
- Maya Angelou.
She was an author, a civil rights activist and a poet. She is regarded as the most eloquent American writer and has been awarded with more than 50 honorary degrees, the prestigious National Medal of Arts (2000), Presidential Medal of Freedom ( 2011 ). She became a single mother at 16, and that is why her writing reflects Motherhood experience and the impacts of raising children.
Mothers have the ability to liberate by love or, by neglect, to imprison,” she once said. “They’re our first teachers; they are our first loves.”
Mothers truly are gems, some rare and precious ones that cannot be found again, once lost. They are our saviours, our shades against the scathing heat of this place called world. They are like shields that protect us from all the harsh and bitter things the world throws at us. It doesn’t matter if a mother is working or is a full time house wife, she is ALWAYS there for her children and will do anything for them.
We should always treasure our mothers and do anything we can for them as “Paradise lies under the feet of your mother.”
So just take care of our mom and get a ticket to paradise, sounds like a fair and easy deal to me.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there, you all light up the world with your smile!
May all the mothers live a happy and healthy life!!
